What Is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It does not save us; rather, it is a joyful act of obedience that follows salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Going under the water symbolizes dying to sin and being buried with Christ, while rising from the water represents being raised to a new life in Him. Baptism is a public testimony of God’s saving grace and a commitment to live as a follower of Jesus Christ.
